So with that in mind, a completely remodeled kitchen from the floor up is available for use. With a wheelchair friendly table, an adjoined dining room is more than just a place to eat but where residents can enjoy each other while listening to their favorite music (Frank Sinatra is a popular choice).
Meals are made in house that include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Balancing good nutrition with resident preferences is a high priority so as to maintain personal comfort and health. And though our goal is to create a warm, family like environment, we also respect privacy and individuality. Resident rooms are more than just rooms, but a home within a home.
Through wider than standard doors, residents enter a place they can call their own. Here, residents may furnish and decorate to their liking. All rooms, private or shared, have sizable closet space for personal belongings, cable, personal phone line, and large windows to allow plenty of natural light and fresh air in.
Resident safety and quality of life is our highest concern which is why all staff and volunteers are screened for TB, background history, and must complete CPR and first aid. Beyond state minimum requirements, however, Serenity Woods conducts continued training for current staff and volunteers as part of our commitment to our residents and their families.
